【摘要】:Sincetheexposureofautomotivecoatingstothevariousmechanicalandchemicalstressesencounteredinactualoperations,isveryopportunistic,obtainingstatisticallysignificantdatafromwhichvalidconclusionscanbedrawn,requiresrigorousattentiontotheexperimentaldesignsandconditionsofexposure.1.1Thispracticecoverstheprotocolforvehicleserviceexposuretestingofautomotivecoatings.Suchexposuretestingisvaluablefortheverificationoftheperformanceofautomotivecoatingsandcorrelationwithlaboratorytestdata.Vehicleserviceexposureisintendedtoprovideshortterm(2to20weeks)exposuretothestressfactorsassociatedwithvehicleoperation.Factorsincludedarescratch,mar,impact,stonechipping,insectimpact,birddropping,treesapandstaining,environmentalfallout,etc.Note18212;Vehicleserviceexposureisnotintendedtoprovidetheconditionsthatareneededforcharacterizingthelongtermeffectsofweatheringorcorrosionexposure.1.2Theexposureconditionsareproducedbytheplacementofmultipletestpanelsofautomotivefinishesonautomotivetestfleetsthattraverseadefinedroadcourse.Exposuretotheoperatingenvironmentcanbe20h/day,7days/weekallowingforaccumulationofover100000milesin10weeksofexposure.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
