【摘要】:Thistestmethodisdesignedtoimparttensileimpactenergytoabuttfusedplasticpipespecimen,recordtheenergytofailthespecimenandplottheloadovertimecurveofthetensiletest.Energyrecordedatyieldandruptureandtherupturemode(brittleorductile)areusedascriteriaintheevaluationofthebuttfusionjoint.Theevaluationoftheforce/timecurvenotonlymakesitpossibletocomparedifferentbuttfusionparametersbutalsotoevaluatetherupturemodeofthespecimentodeterminejointintegrity.Eachcouponrsquo;testresultswillusuallybecomparedtotestresultsforcouponsmachinedfromthebasepipematerial,un-fused.4.1.1Thesedataarealsousefulforqualitativecharacterizationandforresearchanddevelopment.Formanymaterials,theremaybeaspecificationthatrequirestheuseofthistestmethod,butwithsomeproceduralmodificationsthattakeprecedencewhenadheringtothespecification.Therefore,itisadvisabletorefertothatmaterialspecificationbeforeusingthistestmethod.Tensilepropertiesmayvarywithspecimenpreparationandwithspeedandenvironmentoftesting.Consequently,whereprecisecomparativeresultsaredesired,thesefactorsmustbecarefullycontrolled.4.2.1Itisrealizedthatamaterialcannotbetestedwithoutalsotestingthemethodofpreparationofthatmaterial.Hence,whencomparativetestsofmaterialspersearedesired,thegreatestcaremustbeexercisedtoensurethatallspecimensarepreparedinexactlythesameway,unlessthetestistoincludetheeffectsofspecimenpreparation.Whilecaremustbetakentosecurethemaximumdegreeofuniformityindetailsofpreparation,treatment,andhandling,theexactdimensionsofthetestspecimensareenteredintotheDataAcquisitionSystem(DAS)beforeinitiatingthetest.1.1Thisisatensileimpacttestmethodthatdevelopsenoughtensileimpactenergyatspecificratesofstraintorupturestandardtensileimpactspecimensofbuttfusedplasticpipe.ItisusedtodeterminethequalityofPEbuttfusionjointsmadeinthefieldorinqualificationtesting.ItcanalsobeusedtodeterminetheoptimumbuttfusionjoiningparametersofPEmaterials.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicablefortestingpipespecimenswithadiameter2.37in.(60.3mm)andlargerwithawallthicknessfrom0.25in.(6.3mm)andlarger.Note18212;ThistestmethodissimilartoISO13953.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.4Thistestmethodmaybeusedaloneortogetherwithothertestmethods,toevaluatethequalityofthebuttfusedjoints.Whenthistest,conductedatlaboratorytemperaturesper9.2,iscombinedwiththeelevatedtemperature,sustainedpressuretestinSpecificationD3035,boththeshorttermandlongtermstrengthofthePEbuttfusionjointwillbeverified.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
